How It Works
Renter Protection and Host Protection are two products built on the same foundation — the ROVA Vehicle Protection Program.
1. Book or List
Renters book a vehicle and Renter Protection is included. Hosts list their vehicle and Host Protection applies automatically.
2. Enjoy the Adventure
Head out knowing that eligible incidents are covered by the program. Follow the Rental Agreement and Program Terms to stay protected.
3. Report an Incident
If something happens, report it to ROVA within 24 hours. Document the situation with photos and notes.
4. Protection Review
ROVA's team reviews the claim against program terms, booking records, and documentation submitted by both parties.
5. Protection Determination
ROVA issues a determination. Eligible claims are resolved according to program terms. Both parties are notified.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is the ROVA Vehicle Protection Program insurance?
No. The ROVA Vehicle Protection Program is not insurance. It is a contractual protection program administered by ROVA, Ltd. that may reduce your financial responsibility for eligible events. It does not replace personal insurance, and coverage determinations are made by ROVA, not an insurance carrier.
Do I have to participate in the program?
Renter Protection is included with every booking at $25/day — it is built into the platform fee structure. Host Protection is available to all hosts who list vehicles on ROVA and is part of the host agreement.
What happens if there is a damage claim?
Either party can initiate a protection review through ROVA. Our team reviews documentation, photos, booking records, and communications before making a protection determination. Both parties are notified of the outcome.
Does the program cover personal injury?
No. The ROVA Vehicle Protection Program covers vehicle-related financial exposure only. Personal injury, medical expenses, and liability to third parties are not covered. Participants should carry their own personal insurance.
What is the security deposit for?
The security deposit is a temporary hold placed on the renter's payment method at the time of booking. It is released automatically after the trip ends without incident. If a damage claim is filed and approved, ROVA may capture some or all of the deposit.
Can a host opt out of the program?
Host Protection is a core part of listing on ROVA. Hosts agree to the program terms when they list a vehicle. Individual coverage determinations are made case-by-case based on the program terms and the facts of each situation.
