COMMON QUESTIONS
Do I need a license to rent a vehicle?
License and operating requirements depend on the vehicle type, where you plan to ride, and applicable laws. Some rental locations may require a valid driver's license, safety certification, or other documentation. Before booking, review the vehicle listing and confirm any requirements with your Host. Renters are responsible for following applicable laws and operating restrictions.
What is the minimum age to rent?
You must be at least 18 years old to create a ROVA account. Additional minimum-age requirements may apply depending on the vehicle type, Host requirements, and applicable laws. Before submitting a booking request, review the listing requirements to confirm your eligibility. ROVA may require additional verification before a rental can proceed.
Is insurance included with my rental?
ROVA does not currently offer an insurance policy or a vehicle protection program as part of its marketplace bookings. Before requesting a rental, review the vehicle listing and confirm applicable insurance requirements with the Host. Do not assume that personal vehicle insurance automatically applies to peer-to-peer rentals. Any insurance arrangements must be verified before the rental begins.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes. Cancellation options and refund eligibility depend on the applicable cancellation policy and the status of your reservation. Before submitting a booking request, review the cancellation terms associated with your rental. If your plans change, follow the cancellation process available through your ROVA account. Any applicable refund will be determined according to the cancellation policy and rental terms.
How does ROVA verify renters?
ROVA requires Renters to create an account before requesting a booking. Additional identity, eligibility, or documentation checks may be required depending on the vehicle and rental requirements. Renters should review the listing details and be prepared to provide any required documentation before their rental begins. ROVA is continuing to develop its verification procedures to support a trusted marketplace.
What if something goes wrong during my rental?
If you experience an issue during your rental, contact your Host through ROVA as soon as possible. For booking disputes, vehicle concerns, or other non-emergency issues that cannot be resolved directly with your Host, contact ROVA through our Contact Us page.
If an emergency occurs or someone's safety is at risk, contact local emergency services immediately. Once everyone is safe, notify your Host and ROVA of the incident.
